Glenn and Jan Tucker: Leaving a Legacy to Inspire Curiosity
In 1987, Glenn and Jan Tucker visited the Denver Museum of Nature & Science to see temporary exhibition Ramses II. This visit inspired a love for the many educational opportunities available for learners of all ages and sparked a desire to become more involved with the Museum. Now, as active volunteers, Glenn and Jan remain passionate about the engaging environment the Museum offers guests 364 days a year, as they continue to explore new subject areas through lectures and volunteer trainings.
Whether Jan is volunteering as an exhibit interpreter on Sunday mornings in Prehistoric Journey or Glenn is working as a volunteer in the newest temporary exhibition, together they contribute to the Museum's mission to inspire curiosity in learners of all ages.
Jan and Glenn are also committed to supporting the Museum well into the future. To do so, they have become members of the Edwin Carter Legacy Society, a group of individuals who have remembered the Museum in their estate plans. This generous act will ensure the Museum continues to offer memorable experiences that create lifelong fans of science and learning—like Glenn and Jan—ultimately fulfilling the Tuckers' thoughtful desire to "leave something lasting and positive in the community."
The Museum was saddened by the loss of Jan Tucker in January 2017 and is grateful for her special commitment to lifelong learning.
