Carol Robbins
When Carol and her friend Diane recount their bike trip in France, they both have to laugh. “We wanted to cover the route of the Tour de France and thought we were well prepared. We had trained hard throughout Colorado. But those mountains nearly killed us, we had no idea how tough it would be!” says Carol. As an avid cyclist, medical technologist, and seasoned traveler, Carol is always on the lookout for unique, informative experiences. It’s what keeps her coming back to the Denver Museum of Nature & Science.
A native of Pennsylvania who grew up in Maryland, Carol started frequenting the Museum soon after her move to Denver in 1979. “I was just fascinated by the dioramas,” she says. Over the years, she has regularly attended the Museum’s many traveling exhibits, lectures, tours, field trips, Planetarium and IMAX shows. “The Museum is a constant source of entertainment and learning,” says Carol.
To demonstrate her appreciation, Carol decided to name the Museum as one of the beneficiaries of her Individual Retirement Account. By using her IRA, Carol is able to make a larger gift that is tax-free to the Museum. According to Carol, “I encourage my friends to consider this option. You don’t need a large estate to support your favorite charities.”
